Meaning Matters is an online community hosted by the Austen Riggs Center, providing a space to share information and thinking about human behavior and how it is impacted by conscious and unconscious processes, personality and motivational factors, relational dynamics and the meaning of symptoms. We encourage discussion that integrates a psychodynamic perspective with other theoretical approaches and modalities, as well as with research in neuropsychology and neuroscience, developmental psychology, personality, and cognition.
Please note that the views and opinions expressed here are those of the individual authors, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Austen Riggs Center. The Meaning Matters discussion forums are hosted in a Google Group, which can be joined here»
The purpose of the Meaning Matters community is to share information and thinking about psychodynamic practice, research, and education. Open discussion is welcome and encouraged. Our top priority is to promote open dialogue in an environment of mutual respect and trust, while encouraging a willingness to share ideas, expose one’s own ignorance, ask difficult questions, and listen carefully even when we disagree.
